The idea of the E-FOTO project is to provide a software set and teaching materials to help students understand the principles of Photogrammetry. The two main principles of the project are: free use and self-study. Therefore, by reading EBOOK, using software, reading source code, and even modifying or adding new modules to a project, students can fully understand the principles of photogrammetry. The project has developed the following modules: Image Rectification, Interior Orientation, Exterior Orientation, Phototriangulation, Stereogram Normalization, Digital Elevation Model (Digital Elevation Model) Elevation Model), Ortho-rectification, and Digital Stereo-plotting. In addition, the project has also organized some documents, mainly the following four: online help documents, digital photogrammetric EBOOK, project website, and other related miscellaneous items. The project will further refine the documentation, and then translate it into multiple languages, as well as the source code. In the process of improving the software set in the project, an interconnected package will be formed. The connection is achieved by passing XML files, which are mainly implemented by the following four functions: saving, accessing, verifying, and processing data generated by the E-FOTO module. Finally, the project team aims to develop a curriculum and an online teaching environment to adapt to university curricula and to create extended courses or seminars.
The E-FOTO project aims to implement teaching-oriented digital photogrammetric workstations. The implementation is free software that complies with GNU / GPL. E-FOTO does not compete with commercial software in digital photogrammetry. In the E-FOTO environment, users can learn the concepts, tools, and algorithms hidden behind commercial software. In addition, freely accessible source code can be used by researchers around the world in photogrammetric experiments. To this end, E-FOTO's homepage provides some teaching materials. These materials include three digitized frames, aerial imagery, a PDF version of the camera calibration certificate, and ground control points. The project has completed all planned development modules and made them available to the community. The development at this stage is mainly in accordance with the optimization of software engineering ideas.
